I was in doctor's office yesterday and started up a conversation, with another lady that was waiting, about quilting. She said she had never quilted before, but had done LOTS of sewing, and had just inheirited some material from her MIL. It was the original feed sacks that they used YEARS ago. And some that had already been started into blocks. She said she had washed and packed them all and was thinking about learning to quilt. About that time I was called into the back waiting room. When I came back out, she was already gone! Boy would I have like to seen the fabric! I was going to see if she might be interested in selling some of it. I think that would be so cool to get some of the feed bags which had never been cut!

That would have been neat to see  I have never seen any either . Too bad you didn't think sooner, you could have left your name with the desk person after your appt and asked them to pass it on to the other lady. Maybe you will run into her again

My MIL found 20 feed sacks she had stashed away. I asked her not to throw them away and I would be very happy to make her a quilt. Waiting to hear from her.

I can remember, as a little girl, going with my dad to pick out feedsacks that mom would use to make me a dress , or something. I got to choose the print I liked best. I remember it was hard to choose. Still have that problem when I get to a fabric stored!LOL

I thought for sure you were going to say that she gave the feed sacks to you! What a bummer.

You could check back with some one in the doctor's office; see if they would give you her name.
