Default Wow, what a difference (ads vs. no ads)

At home I use Mozilla Firefox with add-on "AdBlockerPlus" - works great! No popups, nothing flashing at me, I see very few ads on pages. No jiggling bellies on my Yahoo Mail (I HATED those).

Yesterday I was at a library using their computers, also Firefox - but ADS all over the place!! How do people stand it??!!

One message board I like to read (not this one) - there were so many ads, the messages only took up about 1/4 of the width of the screen.

It was like
reading
everything
like this.

As I left, I suggested the Adblocker add on to the library personnel.......got the blank look.... Oh well, I tried.

How many of you have adblocking software on your browser?

i've been using firefox without the blocker. i've experienced fewer ads than with IE, but not ad free.
i just installed it and restarted my computer.... it's wonderful!!! thanks so much!

I've used adblock for years...love it. Just be aware, there may be the odd instance where you are trying to open something and it will block the popup that you need. Just turn it off while you're working on that page. I had it happen, I think, when trying to check my superannuation....or something similar, I can't remember now for sure...lol.

Thanks SOOO much!! My husband and I just downloaded it (took seconds!) and immediately ... no ads!! We even tried the worst websites we know .... Weather.com Yahoo.com and MSN.com and ALL are ad free and loaded so fast!!

I know there will be times when things I want get blocked but I'll suffer through that to have pages load faster. The ad's themselves didn't bother me so much, it was WAITING for pages to load because so many flash ad's had to load with it.

Ditto! So many people are too paranoid about downloading and installing stuff, even with recommendations. My parents are really paranoid, I can't even get my dad to install apps on his iPad. I have no idea what he does with it.
