Welcome to the quilting board from sunny Nevada! I too am looking at the Janome 8900, and I've been to two dealers so far. The first one had a salesman that wouldn't shut up, and never answered my questions. The second is twisting my arm to have me trade in a "not so old" Janome. I want a second machine -- hello? Are you listening? It's frustrating, to say the least.

I got it! 2500 out door no trade in. Montavilla sewing center in Portland Oregon. They even have their newspaper ad on their website. Tell your shop they need to match it.

Welcome from OHIO! If you can't find a local dealer you want to work with, try sewingmachinesplus.com I'm not affiliated with them, but I sure have been happy with their prices and service.
