From Bandmom to Quilting Bee

Hi...I'm from KY and am brand new to quilting. To make a LOOONNNGGG story short (or at least shorter) my son graduated and went off the Murray State last year, my daughter is just starting her senior year and so she'll be leaving in a year or so and my father who I have been caring for the last 2 years or so just passed away ...sooo... :( we are talking upcoming EMPTY NEST!!! I took SO many classes from glass work, jewelry making, etc. but literally fell in love when I took my 1st quilting class!! I have been watching this forum and learning so much so I felt like I needed to finally join...LOL. I look forward to visiting with you all! :thumbup:

Hello and Welcome from Oregon. So glad you joined us. There are a lot of things happening here! Empty nester huh?! Well you can spend a lot of time on this board! There sure are a lot of wonerful things happening here!

We are leading parallel lives (almost!), I have twins in college and my son's a senior in high school, I did the bandmom thing for years, and my father passed away last summer (although I wasn't taking care of him). Welcome to the wonderful world of quilting!
