New to forum. Have been recieving newsletter for quite some time. Thought I would give this a try. Have been quilting for about 3 years.
I am in the Sea Island Quilter's Guild here. We have ladies from Hilton Head, Bluffton, Fripp Island, Dataw, etc. We are between Savannah Ga. and Charleston, S.C. The Hunting Island Beach is our seaside. Hope to enjoy the forums.

Hi Shirley,
Had to come post to yours, I lived about five miles out the gate of Parris Island about 39 years ago. Love that area. I have an Aunt down there, she keeps telling me to get down there but the fabric keeps calling my name.

Welcome to the only Guild I'm able to join.......the online one! We tend to get real involved in this quilting "pastime" so enjoy!

I know where you are - I lived on Edisto Island for a while years ago. Do the Gullah women still do baskets and quilts by the side of the roads around there? Pull up a chair, fill out your profile, and join in.

Oh, Moonpi, I'd forgotten the Gullah's........what a nice memory. My Aunt used to try to scare us with things going on in that area, witchcraft and such. She still believes that stuff, she's only about 5 years older than me, so I don't get her. lol lol

Burton Park, that was where the Marine and I lived. We loved it there, began our first child there as a matter of fact........oops, to much information.

I was born there (Beaufort, SC) when my dad was stationed at Parris Island. We moved away before I was 2 so I only know what it looks like from movies. I would love to see it. Does it still smell like a paper mill? That's what my mother remembers most.

I hope to visit there sometime in the near future!

Welcome to the Quilting Board!
