Welcome to the QB from Pa, USA. So glad to hear you are quilting again. Anxious to see your creations posted for all to enjoy. Binding is a matter of choice. Back in the 70's Wide binding was very popular. Today narrower binding is popular. I use 2 1/4" wide strips for my bindings and it gives a narrow and neat binding. Also today many people are sewing down their bindings down with special fancy stitches on home machines. A wider binding might work well with this method. Have fun and do what feels right to you. There is no absolute rule about it. peace
