i am 51 and this will be my first attept at making a quilt. my mother is getting up there in age and she has the urge to try.
while she has been buying full pieces of material and sewing them together to get a idea.
while we were in the store looking at material i found a beautiful
piece of material with birds and fruit that i would like to turn into a quilt. it is a large block and i will need 3 of them to get the lenght that i will need. i have been looking for a way to put it together and it will take some extra material on each side and i would like to put space between each large block. the colors are bright and colorful, blue, purple, red, yellow, gold, deep green, i would appericate all ideas. :?:

Hi and welcome from Iowa. One way to start designing a quilt is to get some graph paper and some colored pencils and to start playing. Once you have the design you want you can use that as your pattern.
