Default Finally back after several years with no computer

You just can not keep a quilter down. Well maybe with quilt down. Are you smiling?
My time of tears is over. I can see the end of the tunnel & it is no longer the train to run me over!
Now divorced, living in an apartment of my own. Finally getting social security. Had been paying to rent half of a back porch in a house over 100 years old. No heat. If my pioneer fore mothers could do more with less, than who was I to grumble & complain, sit & do nothing to make progress ...and leave a bad example for my descendants?

I still have one amazing friend...of course she is a quilter & fiber artist.
She would drive to where I have been about once a month, sometimes twice.
She always brought a tub of oatmeal, a few bananas, a box of herbal tea, an older quilt magazine & some scrap fabric from the freebie table at the Guild I used to belong to, and she still belongs to.

Each month I see a wee bit more progress. Each month I am the one to choose what I want to do without to be able to have what I do not want to do without. I get to decide that. So this year, for my birthday to myself, I bought a second hand lap top. Now I have wifi and am back! I missed you all. Truly.

I am still using my old AOL account...can not figure out how to get his name off the name that shows up at the top of outgoing emails...this user name is so old, aol was pay for only. Now that it is free, there ought to be a way to get his name off, right? Any quilt techies out there that can help?

No longer have a printer to hook up, web cam or mic. But with time that too is possible. Now have a book on how to draft up any block any size, a compass, protractor, drafting paper, and nice ruler. Where there is a will, there was an ancestor who did it back then. They give me the pow to work through it. God supplies the strength & courage.

So I am happy to be back, regardless of the circumstances.
Looking forward to seeing what all you are working on.

I do a bit of it all. Hand work, applique, machine work, quilting, drafting now too...not really great at any of it...but practice does make me better. Have been doing this since before I was old enough to attend school. Just a quilt here, wait a while, make more blocks...another quilt there. Have a dozen grandchildren that I have quilted for.
I just keep trying until it is as good as I can get it. I never have to worry about making a vanity block.
My work has enough natural mistakes that it is hard to be vane over it. LOL
There are still so many quilt techniques, designs, ideas and color ways that I want to try
...and now i do not have to put it away for dinner or guests...or get permission to make a mess.
He was good to me for a long long time. Now he can be good for her. This is a new condition for me but it is also not all bad.

Welcome back from Ontario, Canada! Congratulations on seeing the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel! Hopefully someone with more computer skills on QB will give you some pointers on how to change your computer AOL name.

It's great to have you back and that things are really looking up for you. I can't give you any help on the AOL account but why not just open a new account with your name on it?
