Hello all. I'm Connie from Ohio and have been quilting for several years. I thoroughly enjoy it - is a great stress reliever. Have a question. I'm currently working on a baby quilt for my newest granddaughter, Lily. This is a 3-panel ABC quilt, which has the letters/characters appliqued. I'd like to finish it off by doing a sort of free hand quilting - loops and swirls, but not sure how to accomplish this. I normally use the plastic templates and mark the quilt. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I'd just take a water soluble marker and mark the top with it and then follow the lines.

Welcome

:P

I use Floriani embroidery Wet N Gone Fusible stabilizer, It's sheer so I can trace my quilting pattern, fuse it to the quilt top, it stays in place, do the quilting, and it washes away when finished.
The best price I have found is located at Erica's Crafts, here is a link http://www.ericas.com/embdesigns/sta...s_floriani.htm

If you try this method, you won't go back to marking, believe me it works great, especially if you do feathers.

Hello and Welcome to the board :D:D:D

Practice drawing this design over and over on paper until you are very comfortable with it. Make a practice sandwich and give it a go :D:D:D
