Wow, thanks for all the welcomes. I feel at home already. I think the hardest thing for me is going to be figuring out how much fabric of each color I will need and how many different designs I will need of each color.
I started out by trying to find a quilt in the colors I wanted and couldn't find any. Another problem, the bed that I need it for is an odd size......48".

WELCOME FROM MANITOBA/CANADA which province are you? My only regret in quilting is not haven't taken more classes in the beginning 15yrs ago. I love shopping test run new rulers, fabric just talk to me when I'm in fabric store. Always, in search for that ideal job that pays good, and don't ever have to be at work..

Welcome from southeastern PA. Definitely check out Missouri Star Quilt and Jenny Doan. She makes things look easy and they are. Just keep in mind she uses a lot of precuts, you don't have to do that. Buy the yardage and cut to the size required. There are a lot of very easy quilts to start off with so do not hesitate to ask anyone here for help.
