Welcome from OHIO! I never wash pre-cuts or any other fabric, but always wash the quilt when completed.

Welcome from northwest Iowa! Washing pre-cuts is difficult. You have to put them in a laundry bag or wash them by hand. I did have some charms shrink from 5 inches down to 4 3/4 inches. It was a name brand fabric and I was really disappointed to have it shrink that much. If you have problems with machine, describe the problem and I bet someone can help you. This is a great site!

Welcome and waving from Colorado
If the backing is several inches bigger than the front will be it won't matter. I never wash pre-cuts. In fact, some websites tell you not to wash them.
