Hello! So nice to meet so many kind people. Post #14 has a couple of pictures of my floorquilts. I will eventually be making a floorquilting tutorial. Just for the record: The construction of a (no-sew) floorquilt mainly involves the piecing of treated cotton fabrics onto a heavy-weight canvas to form an attractive design. Several coats of a decoupage medium and a clear water-based finish are then applied to protect the fabrics and enhance the colors on the fabrics. This is what enables us to walk on our quilts, while preventing wear-n-tear. Mine have stood up to the heaviest of traffic. I will further explain in the tutorial. Happy quilting!

Hello from Illinois and I would also love to see your floor quilts, sounds quite interesting. I want something on my porch floor and this just may be just the same. do they stand up to the outside elements (on a covered porch say?)

Hi Pat! Floorquilts are spill-proof, but not entirely water-proof. In otherwords, any fluids that come in contact with a floorquilt would need to be removed within a reasonable amount of time, or as they occur. A water-based finish, which I use, will not yellow when it comes in contact with the sun, or yellow with the passing of time. I would recommend placing your floorquilt in a sheltered area of your porch, or removing it whenever there is rain that may reach it. Thanks for your interest, and Happy Quilting!
