Are cotton sheets available in Lebanon? These could be used as backing. My friend just returned from living in Beirut for several years, but most of her fabrics were purchased when she would visit the States or someone would go and visit them. I know the mail system is not always reliable making online purchases difficult and very expensive. I read about someone in India who quilted using silks and pashmina shawl fabrics, stabilizers would be a big help with these, but maybe zigzagging the edges before cutting? Quilters are creative so I look forward to your "outside of the box" quilting adventures!
