I think that this was sold at a flea market because the person that created it may have died. Family members did not want it, so sold it, along with other personal items, at the flea market. I purchased it for $10 and thought it was a bargain. The top is hand stitched, something I don't have the patience to do. I added a batting and back and tied together. Thanks for your comments.

Welcome from SW Ontario, Canada. You were lucky to find a great looking top. I hand quilt my quilts, but have helped out tying charity quilts with a church group.

Wow! That is beautiful.. I bet the person at the flea market had no idea what a treasure they had. Congrats on the great find. I personally go to thrift stores and estate sales. Lots of quilting goes on in this part of the country. (NC)
