I'm new to both this site and to quilting. My daughter and I just completed our first quilting project...a Christmas table runner and placemats for her dining room table. I thoroughly enjoyed the process until I hit the dreaded binding. I'm sure it will get easier with more experience, but oh-my-goodness, the final step...joining the two ends...gave me fits.
I've been sewing for forty years, but had not become interested in quilting until I attended a quilt show last summer. I was awestruck at the beautiful quilts, and I wonder why I had never felt the desire to quilt before.
Since attending that quilt show, I have been collecting books, patterns and fabrics, and I also signed up for a quilting class at a local adult school.
I am so glad that I found this forum! I've been browsing and bookmarking some very informative threads for the past month, and have really learned so much already.
Hope you all are having a great holiday season!
