Hello from Surprise, Arizona!

Hi! :D
My name is Vicki Sprain and I live in Surprise, AZ with my hubby and 5 kids. I am originally from Wisconsin and, yes, I am a Packer fan. My favorite things to eat are ice cream, Doritos and potato chips! I love shopping for a bargain, aka "screaming deal".
I have been quilting for about 13 years and love it! I learned to sew when I was in 4-H as a kid and haven't put down my needle or fabric since. I belong to a local quilting guild named Quilters Anonymous and also to the Arizona Long Arm Quilters Guild. In Feb 2007, I purchased a long arm quilting machine, practiced, practiced and practiced some more and then opened my own long arm quilting machine business in my home. I love it and it is so great getting paid to do something I enjoy so much. It works out well with our family's busy schedule to have something flexible that I can do at home.
Recently, I found out that a quilt shop is opening up here in Surprise. I'm really excited about this addition to the more than 20 shops here in the Phoenix metro area. It may be really warm here most of the year but the number of quilters is growing by leaps and bounds.
I am looking forward to getting to know all of you fellow quilters and I am sure I will learn lots from you all!
Thanks to jacquemoe for telling me about this group!

Well, what a surprise - there's a place with that name.
Welcome from BC, a much northern neighbour. We're mourning the loss of Brett Favre and debating the need for the NFL package on our TV. Looking forward to some quilting wisdom from you and, of course, pictures.
