Hello to BettyM from VA. I'm in the Roanoke area. I, too, have been reading the Board for weeks. Many good suggestions and ideas. I'm a very beginner quilter, but have jumped in with a splash. I'm working with a old commercial Singer which is great for straight work, but nothing else. I also have a 30 year old Kenmore. It's okay, but trying to make an embroidery machine out of it is not working. I've got to find another machine. I've done a lot of the research on machines, but that was before I started quilting. Any advice on the best sewing/embroidery machine to get (used) would be greatly appreciated. Also, my search was on eBay and went to a dealer in Danville but he wanted to sell me the top of the line. Advice on places in the Roanoke, Va area would be good, too.
