hi-dee-ho from central nebraska
hello. i'm new to quilting, new to quilting board, and quite a novice. i don't know much. i've taken one class on my machine (what it does, what feet for what, etc), and one on quilting. just the very beginner class. i've fallen in love with quilting, and now like it better than garment sewing.
my grandmother was a quilter, and she was quite good. she was able to sell her creations, and she was a real perfectionist. i hoped to learn some tips and tricks from her, but she passed away about 20 years ago, and i wasn't at a spot in life that i could learn it.
one thing i've discovered, is that i LOVE sewing. i knew i liked it before, but i'm quite addicted to the satisfaction of creating something and also addicted to the learning.
so, it's nice to meet you. i hope to learn much from all your comments and threads and posts.
thanks,
heather

Hi Heather, welcome to the board from Minnesota. For anyone who is a great sewer and loves it, you should be able to pick up the nuances of quilting. And everyone on the board is ready and willing to help. Enjoy yourself here!

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. It would have been wonderful to learn from your Granny. One asset that you do have that Granny didn't, is the internet. Most questions can be answered here and there are some great youtube videos from the Missouri Star Quilt Co.
