I am a working mom and have always wanted to sew and quilt. I love most types of crafts and do a lot of home redesign and staging. I have never learned to sew and make clothes, but I know that I can enjoy quilting. Last year, I made curtains for my den and they turned out great! I know two ladies who have been quilting all their lives and have been encouraging me to just get started. So I have! I have supplies and a simple pattern as well as a "how to" book. I have also shopped for fabrics and have several ideas. The shopping for fabrics has been really fun! Talk about creativity!
So, I am looking forward to joining in on your fun and getting to know a mentor or two who can help me out. My biggest issue is having time, but I will find a way to work this into my schedule.
Thanks for listening!

Welcome! I started out just the same way. I was an Army wife and I sewed my curtains and stuff where ever we moved then I got to Kansas and ran into some ladies with a quilt and it's been six years and I love it. I still consider myself a beginner. I will say that I joined my local quilt guild and they were scary at first but took me under their wings and showed me how to become a quilter and I haven't looked back. Enjoy what you do and you will be much happier. Christina

Thanks! And you are right....sometimes we just have to dive in and go for it! I have been cautious to get started because of the time factor, but if I don't start somewhere it won't happen!

So thanks for the encouragement!

Hello and welcome from central Alabama. You can do it, just take your time and measure carefully. It will be just fine.
