I retired in Jan 09, I love to sew and some crocheting. My husband bought me a new Brother embroidery sewing machine so I've been playing with that, but I'm ready to try quilting. I've seen the pictures of your beautiful quilts.

I'm looking for an easy quilt pattern to start, maybe for a toddler or baby which I can donate to a shelter here in Arizona.

I'm originally from Chicago, have been in Arizona for about 20 years.

Welcome to the board from Southern California!
There are a lot of nice and easy patterns for beginner quilters. One of my favorites is called Yellow Brick Road. Another is called Bits and Pieces. they use fat quarters, are easy to cut and sew together.
You can also try a 4 patch or a 9 patch or even a Rail Fence quilt. So many different choices!!
Hope you have a great time finding a pattern and the fabrics to go with it!

Do you know about

http://www.quilterscache.com/

yet?

It is a great site with tons of quilt block patterns all labeled by difficulty. You might search around on there for an idea you like.

Welcome from central Iowa. If you put links in the search box on this site you will me up with too much to even look at in an evening. (I tried it once!) If you don't want to donate a thousand hours to that try the link below,
