Hi from Missouri
#1
I just joined the group a couple days ago and already addicted.
I live in a small town in the Bootheel of Missouri and have lived here all my 55 years. I have two sons, Jeremy 33 and Nick 30, and three g-sons, Barrett 6, Branson 3 and Austin 2 and they are the LOVES of my life.
My mom started teaching me to sew when I was 9 years old on a treadle machine that I still have and would like to get it cleaned up and use it again.
My cousin moved to town from Texas about 13 years ago and she was a quilter and thought that I needed to be one also, so she taught me how. The first quilt I made was for my best friend's daughter whom I had sewed for when she was a small child. I took scraps of all the outfits I made her and made a Sunbonnet Sue quilt that I appliqued and had quilted, which I don't think I will ever do again. I would rather make the tops and have them quilted.
It has been a few years since I have actually quilted, I have been sewing little girl's clothes, mostly for my g-niece, and I love doin this. I also do machine embroidery, but lately I have been thinking about quilts again, so may have to get back into it. Being on here is gonna inspire me to do just that.
Just thought I would add a photo of some of the outfits I have made. Thanks for looking.
I love this board.

Hi and welcome from the sunny state of Florida!!
Great job on the clothes! My DD has kept me busy sewing for her girls and I haven't had much time for quilts either that I sew want to do instead of clothes. It's too hard telling your kids NO!! Besides my grandchildren will only be small a short time.
