I am a retired junior high English teacher and a self-taught quilter. A couple of years ago I took my first quilting class and loved it. I have been reading these messages for awhile now, but just have to add that the Featherweight Fever caught hold after hearing about all of you who have them. The first few days after I got it I just couldn't get over how "cute" it was! I think I got a good deal but am kind of concerned about getting the tension adjusted just right.

Hello from Illinois. Most of my husband's family is still in Nebraska. McCook, Grand Island, Columbus, Bellevue. My father-in-law is even a retired teacher so you and I are nearly related! :D

There are many featherweight fans on the board to help you with any questions that come up.

Hello from Iowa. I am also a retired teacher. This is my first year out. How long have you been retired? I was a special needs teacher and as much as I loved my job I was heading for major burn-out.

I've been retired for 8 years. I know what you mean by burn-out. I subbed for 3 years afterwards because I missed the kids so much.

Hello from Alabama!! I lived in Nebraska for 17 years..10 years in Lincoln and 7 in Syracuse. I was there when quilting really took off in the middle 70's. It was a great time to be there.
