i just wanted to introduce myself. I am the daughter of a wonderful quilter who has never quilted!! Until now.... I think... My parents 40th wedding anniversary is coming up and I wanted to make them a wall hanging quilt as a gift. (This from the daughter that doesn't sew - my sister is very accomplished as well!) So I will probably have many questions as I start this journey. I will have about 5 months to do it!

Wish me luck!

Welcome and good luck on the wall hanging.

I made my in-laws a signature quilt (sent blocks to people to have them write their sentiments on). I embroidered every single one of them by hand. It was really emotional because by the time the party happened, 3 of the people, including my mil best friend, had passed away.

My advice is to make sure you have plenty of time!
Keep us posted,
Julie

Hi from TX. Glad to have you with us. The scariest part is getting started, then it's just putting it down that's the hard part! Good luck on your project. Your folks will be excited that you made it for them!
