Hi,

My name is Kirsten and I have been quilting for about 8 years now.

I used to be really active in one forum in particular (a hand quilting group with Yahoo!). However, I got pregnant and discovered I had the energy to gestate, work and quilt or to gestate, work and talk about quilting!

Now that my baby is 6 months old I want to start talking about quilting again. However, the group that I used to post in has shut down, so now I am looking for another forum to join.

I used to travel with work a lot, so I mostly did hand piecing on airplanes. I am much more land-based now, so I have been sneaking in some machine work whenever I can. Unfortunately we have a tiny apartment and my sewing room is also the baby's room, so I have to work around her napping schedule.

And yes, my baby is the smartest, strongest, most beautiful baby in the world. I am also completely unbiased about her.

You can check out my blog (which I am trying to start updating again...) at http://www.3dquilt.blogspot.com/

I managed to organize a trip to Japan during the Tokyo Quilt Festival a couple of years ago - it was one of the best experiences of my entire life (keep in mind I am 6' and blond, in a sea of little Japanese ladies!) The quilts were amazing, and I discovered my quilting hero - Kuroha Shizuko.

You're so lucky to be close enough to attend!
