Hi Charla! Let us know if you've started yet? I'd love to see a photo!

Here's one you might like... this quilt is the first quilt of a friend. I long armed it for her.

The thing that helped me the most was taking a class at my local quilt shop that was called Kindergarten Quilting. It walked me through the cutting, measuring, piecing, etc. I learned everything basic that I needed to get going. I would recommend you check into a class where you can see, touch, feel things being done. If no classes near you, try Craftsy. It is an online website with classes you can purchase and watch over and over. They have some very good ideas. Good luck!

Welcome from Rhode Island. If you have a sewing machine and can sew a 1/4 inch seam, you are on your way. Good Luck

Bienvenue Nouvelle Amie, thats welcome new friend. Once you begin playing with your fabric and piecing it together you might want to make a small doll quilt. Then you could join the doll quilt exchange on the Quilting Board. This is my first month and my exchange person is from Australia. You will learn fast, just ask when you need advice. We all give freely. Hugs
