If you're new, then I must be old! Welcome to our quilting board.

Don't be afraid of making a mess when you first start machine quilting. Start with a pot holder, and work your way to larger quilts. Experience has taught me that success is the result of a series of small steps and not quitting.

Welcome from NJ. I'm a hand quilter as well and understand your plight! I've recently been doing some researching into machine quilting myself for the same reason. A bunch of tops that I just want to get done! Soon...

I think it's the thought of all the practice I'll need to do. It seems like wasted time when I could be sewing more tops lol

Welcome from Oklahoma. That 365 thing sounds intriguing. Someone else mentioned that recently. Be sure to show a picture when you get it finished.

I agree. I"m working on my FMQ skills now. I made some practice sandwiches and spent some time practicing on them. Then I practiced on some bags I made. Now, I'm finally quilting the quilt. Its coming out pretty good for my first attempt and quilting swirls
