Hi Cassiemae, You live in the cold country too!!! I love Montana. I also am suposed to be retired, but I still "work" home nursing. can take my hand quilting and work on it on the job. I am rather new to quilting. I made a small applique top some years ago and never finished it. so a couple years ago I started a sampler quilt, and carried it to work with me. I have it all quilted except for the boarder and I made a baby quilt applique lambs by machine for my new great-grandaughter. I came out nicely. I had to finish it for the baby shower. Am working by hand on an apple blossom quilt. It goes slow. I have a husband married 49 yrs. this June. A dog and a cat that I adore. Sam and Tiger ---------
the cold country I live in is upstate New York in a little village..on Main st.

Any one have information on the larger thread quilting Like crochet cotton or Pearl cotton. My cousin from Illinois told me about it. She took a lesson on it from her quilt club. I never see it any books or magazines I have. Can anyone help me? Greetings to all quilters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Wolle,
There are a couple of threads (tongue in cheek) about the threads and how they work out on the main page. You'll love reading them, Tim has real experience at working it.

Hello Cassiemae!----I am a beginner as well and have learned so much from the messages posted here. All of the pictures of finished quilts are such an inspiration! I completed the top for a baby quilt for my first grandbaby this summer. (you know, he just had to have one) Now, it appears that I am hooked and my mind is overflowing with ideas for future projects. But, school is starting tomorrow. I am a Special Ed. Preschool Teacher, so my time will be limited although I plan to "fit" it in. We have three grown children and have been married for 38 years. Our only child now is furry, an 11 year old Labrador Retriever named Molly. :D
