Iowa Newb

I didn't finish my 8th grade apron because I hated my Home Ec teacher. I just turned 50, and I need a creative outlet. My baking habit is causing my friends and family to expand! I know there is a wealth of experience in this group, and I am excited about embarking on this adventure. I'm prewashing my first fabric for a Simplicity butterfly rag quilt. Wish me luck!

welcome from se TX -- I wonder how many of us were turned off to sewing by 8th grade home ec?? My mother finished my skirt for me -- I took up sewing again about 10 years later and made some of own clothes for awhile -- but quilting is a joy!!
