Welcome from Tennessee. I made a quilt for a challenge last year: "Travel Poster"...mine was "Ice Fish Okoboji." Iowans would appreciate it more than anyone. Know of any quilt shows in IA? Can't enter it in the state fair, it's just for Hawkeyes.

Hi and welcome, were you in my sewing class in junior high. The whole class hated the sewing teacher because she was mean, mean, mean. We had to make a jumper and where it to school one day. I guess that was her way of getting her brownie points with the principal. You have given me inspiration because my baking is making me get larger and larger, a quilt will just keep the receiver warm.

Eighth grade home ec almost did me in, too. Thankfully by second semester my teacher realized that my taste was NOT pink and teddy bears, and had me make some simple things for the veterans and senior citizens rather than stuff I would have just given away. The fabric from the skirt that never got made in HS home ec turned into a beautiful quilt last year, it only took 14 years! Thankfully when I started quilting I fell into a supportive group of ladies, Hope you enjoy the adventure!
