MY NAME IS GAYLE AND I'M FROM GLIDDEN, IOWA. NEWLY RETIRED AND NOW HAVE THE TIME TO LEARN A NEW SKILL. I'VE WENT TO TWO CLASSES AND ALREADY HAVE PIECED A FRENCHBRAID QUILT, THAT CAME OUT WONDERFUL. CANNT BELIEVE I DID IT!!! NOW I HAVE A NEW IDEA FOR A QUILT OF MY OWN IDEA. BASKETS OF FLOWERS-- ALL DIFFERENT, BUT DO NOT HAVE PATTERNS!! HOW WOULD THEY LOOK WITH LACE MADE INTO SOME OF THE FLOWERS, OR SEW ON PRETTY BOTTONS ON THE BASKET.OR YARN AROUND THE BOTTOM FOR GRASS JUST SOMETHING ON EACH BLOCK TO GIVE IT A LITTLE SNAP! IS THIS A GOOD IDEA ? WOULD IT WORK??

Hi and welcome from Australia.

Embellishments on the baskets of flowers would be great. Let your imagination go free!!!

Welcome from Alabama. I think your flower basket would make a wonderful wall hanging. The lace and buttons will make a great 3D quilt.

Welcome -to the board and to quilting. Your ideas sound great. The best thing about quilting is that there is no limit -you may use a pattern or not but no rules about how you finish things to make it your own. Colors and positioning can change the same basic pattern into totally different quilts. Enjoy and feel free to be artistic.
