Welcome from Texas & prayers for a speedy recovery. If you like to sew you will LOVE quilting. I would say start with something small to get the hang of how it's done. Watch a lot of tutorials (you tube) to see how it's done. Of course you will receive lots & lots of help and encouragement from the board here. Learn to take pictures because we love to drool over what everyone makes.

Welcome from OHIO! You'll find lots of help here. There are hundreds of very talented quilters and I learn new things nearly every day just reading the forums.
