Hi,
I am new to this board. I have been quilting for a while and am ready to try machine quilting with a frame. I have been researching them quite a bit. Some, infact most, are way out of my price range. I also don't have much space to set up one. I did run across one by Kenneth Lund that looks interesting and it is about $200.00. I am just wondering if anybody has any experience with one of these. I emailed him and he was nice enough to call me back. He has a couple of videos on youtube. Thanks, Ganma7

Thanks Mema. I also considered the John Flynn, but I like the fact that with Ken's frame you move the machine instead of moving the fabric. I am still in the thinking mode. I saw on this board that someone built her own frame and purchased the Grase carriage upgrade . How Smart!! I am not that brave. I do have a beautiful oak floor hand quilting frame that my DH made me years ago. I do wonder if I could change it to be a machine quilting frame and just add the Grace carriage....
Thanks for the reply... Ganma7 in Georgia

I am also new to the board. Based on this post, I looked at John Flynn's and Ken Lund's frames. I think I like the look of Ken's frame and I am considering it. If someone gets either, please post your thoughts.

The Ken Lund frame is styled after the frames made by Grace and others. It's very similar to the Hinterberg tabletop frame. If your desire is to trace pantographs onto your quilts, this would do the trick. But what I see missing from this frame are handles to do FMQ. I'm certain these could easily be fabricated out of wood or metal and attached to the upper carriage, if you have someone with the tools and talent to do so. You will need a sturdy table the entire length of your frame to set this on, which may be an issue with the 96" length frame. A long dining table or ping pong table would work, if you have one.
