Hi everyone ,
First of all I want to say how much I really enjoy this board. Does anyone know of any individually owned shops in Texas ( Dallas) area. I've just started quilting and so far I've only purchased fabric from Joann's. Walmart doesn't carry it anymore here.

Hi and welcome from another Texan, glad you joined us. There are a few folks on this board from the Dallas area. I hope they can help you. I'm not familiar with the Dallas area shops. Good luck in your search.

Honey you live in a quilting Mecca. Where do you live?
Here is a list off the top of my head.

Rockwall-Texas Quiltworks
Wylie-Blue Ribbon Quilts
Garland- Suzy's
Mesquite-Thomas's Sewing center (on Town East across from mall)
McKinney-Quilt Asylum
Carrollton-Olde Craft Store
Lewisville=Quilt Country
Cedar Hill has one, Arlington, has two, Colleyville has one, Waxahaxie has one
Wills Point has one.
Google "Quilt Shops in Texas"

Let me know where you live and I will point you in the direction of a guild. They will teach you a bunch.

You can put into the web north quilt shop and it should give you the ones close to you. We did it when we went to Houston

Welcome I go to Rockwall-Texas Quiltworks, and Quilters Connection I think it on Plano Rd and Walnut hill in Dallas. I live in east Texas and the quilt shop in Wills Point is worth the drive from Dallas. it is closer for me to go to wills Point then Dallas, Staff is great and friendly, they are closed on Sunday and Monday and open late on Thursdays. Hope this helps. Happy Quilting!
