Hi I'm Jean from St. Louis. My mother was a avid quilter and of course my sister nor myself truely paid attention when she was trying to get us involved. And of course Mom isn't with us any longer. I am now a Grandma in waiting, and I have designed my grandbabies quilt top. I'm at a loss as to how to even begin marking the quilt. I intend on hand quilting it. Anyone have any tips? I sure could use a few

Hello, and welcome from Idaho! I don't hand quilt, but if you go to the Home page and scroll down to All User-Defined Topic Lists you will find a category for hand quilting. You will find a ton of topics for hand quilting.

There are many hand quilters here--someone may adopt you! Welcome from Kentucky!

I am a hand quilter and I like to use the ceramic pencils. They have several different colors. There are several brands but I am using the Sewline brand. They erase off or can use a damp cloth to wipe off.
