Hello. My name is Sue and I've been quilting for about 4 years now. Gosh ... that sounds like an intro at an AA meeting.
Quilting is my 3rd hobby behind breeding and showing dogs, then gardening.
I have two machines, a Husqvarna Lily and a Janome MC 6500. I like them both for different reasons. My favorite quilt "genre" are Bargello quilts and the art quilts. I'm not crazy about "block" quilts although that's what I'm working on at this moment (actually ... it's the "Ohmygosh" quilt). I am self taught (including the bad habits), and I usually take big bites in my lessons (ie my first quilt I decided to learn free-motion meandering - not bad).
I've not finished a whole lot of quilts, and like most (all?) of you I have several UFO's that are lurking in my sewing room.
I'm married, a full time accountant for a small manufacturer, no children, live in rural Illinois, and currently house 3 dogs - mother and her daughter and her son (two different litters - all of them Champions), plus several others across the country on co-ownership. I'm VERY active in my dog spot on the board of the club, several committee's and as a writer for the premier dog magazine (AKC Gazette). My husband is from England and his three children still reside there so we try to visit as often as possible. We own a small business in the greenhouse industry and travel to trade shows and customers takes us around the country quite a bit. Fortunately I'm a high energy person so I can keep up (barely) with my busy schedule.
I did belong to another quilting forum, some of you may know me from there. I posted/checked it rather infrequently and when I looked today there were very few recent posts so I decided to look around and check out another forum.
