Hi to all you wonderful quilters. I have dabbled in quilting over the years and after finding this group I have got inspired to try again. My Mom passed away and in going through her things I found a real treasure that I would like to come to life. She had coss stitched 24 blocks 18" by 18" done in red, orange, yellow, gold, and purple roses with 2 toned green leaves. It must have been a kit as there are quilting lines marked on each block. What I am wondering is what color sashing would look right on this treasure. I am excited to get working on it but I am stuck. I hope someone can give me a push in the right direction as everytime I touch the blocks my Mom is with me and I would like to finish her dream. Thank you to anyone with an idea. sigelgranny

For some reason light purple popped in my mind. I would try placing a block on various colored fabrics to see which one looked best. Good luck.

Hello and Welcome to the board :D:D:D

You may want to consider hand quilting this, the stopping and starting on those quilt lines may be more difficult with a machine :D

i would take a few of the blocks with me to the lqs...pull some bolts, spread out some fabric, lay the blocks on it and see...does this work? or is this better? and also ask the store employees for their (two cents worth). we could advise better with pictures- there are so many different shades of the colors you quoted --nothing like seeing the blocks with the choices to decide what brings it all together.
have fun, what a treasure

Oh, I would love to see some of the blocks posted here. Then colors could be more accurate. I think.

And welcome from Maryland!
