I am a new quilter, although I've gone through part of the process while making bedspreads. I have 12 squares of the sampler quilt from Georgia Bonesteel's first "Lap Quilting" book. I started it in 1983 and just finished the last block this past November. A paper doll quilt pattern had intrigued me and I just had to finish this old quilt before I could start another.

I look forward to learning a lot from everyone. Thanks

Wow, thank you all. I didn't expect a bunch of warm and friendly welcomes. What a nice surprise!

Now I just need to learn to navigate. Where do I ask how to remove brown spots from handmade quilts from the late 1880s? Divine intervention? ^__^ Thanks again -- Rita from Missouri.

Hi, City Mouse (Rita)! And Welcome! Glad you are here. :) You can ask out in the Main forum about cleaning quilts. I've seen a few threads on this in the past as well, so you might want to read some of those as well. You can just search on something like "cleaning".

HI Sharon: I promise, as soon as I finish my paperdoll quilt, I will post a photo. Thanks for asking.
