Welcome from OHIO! I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. My mom was an incredible seamstress and quilter and I always planned to have her teach me all about quilting (as well as how to make a flaky pie crust!) thinking we had lots of time to do those things after my kids were married and settled and I wasn't so "busy". Unfortunately, she also left us very quickly and I've had to learn on my own. I am so thankful for the internet and all of the great help from this quilting board. Quilters are very eager to help someone new and I keep learning new things every day. Mom's been gone for sixteen years now, and I still think how much she would love the things I'm learning and making. I've never made a quilt without thinking of her a lot as I worked on it.
