Hi! I have 10 children and 21 grandchildren. I live in Oklahoma. I have never belonged to a chat group so I hope I am doing this right. I am wanting to learn how to machine applique. I have done lots of quilts but never machine applique. I have a new grandson due in February and was wanting to find a cute applique pattern for a "car" quilt. If you have any ideas, hints or advice this NANNIE could use some help. :-)

Welcome. I don't have any grandchildren yet, but have been gearing up and collecting suitable fabric. I am sure someone on the Board will have a fabulous pattern they will share with you.

A big welcome to the board from Ireland. I can't think of a suitable pattern for you, but rest assured, someone will!

Howdy neighbor! I'm from Arkansas. I make applique quilt blocks and iron on appliques. I'm an Ebay seller. Contact me if you like.

Hi from Ohio..I've done a few applique quilts. You will have to set your machine to a zig zag stitch. Start on an outside curve with your needle to the right and place in down. The width and length may need to be changed to your desire. When you come to an inside point stop when the needle is on the left side to pivot.

Hope this helps.

Also be sure to have a stablizer, the kind that washes out is the best, this way your material won't stretch and pucker..
