My name is Janice and I live in the Benson, NC area. I have recently cut my work week back to 4 days so that I can have some hobby time. One of my first priorities is to start quilting. I did some quilting (entirely by hand) years ago but quilting has come a long ways since then. I have been sewing for years just not spent a lot of time sewing for the last few.
I first need to replace my old sewing machine with one that will take care of my quilting & sewing needs. I have been doing a little research on the Janome machines and like what I have learned about the Quilting Companion series machines. Would any of you have suggestions on the machines that work best for you?
Thanks for your help,
Janice

Welcome from Indiana!
I have 2 Bernina sewing machines. I usually have one doing embroidery while I'm sewing on the other!
But you need to "test drive" anything before you purchase it. No matter who recommends what brand, it's really a matter of personal preference along with economic considerations. Buy the best you can afford and you won't regret it later!!!!!

Hi Janice, welcome from Southern California. I personally have a Bernina and a 23 yr old Pfaff. The Bernina is fairly new but my Pfaff was a workhorse that never ever broke down on me! I have heard a lot of good about Janome's but have only used one at a quilt show.

Welcome to the Board Janice, from SoCal! I have 2 Singers, so can't help you with the Janome, beyond that I know people who have them who are very happy with them. As was said above, you'll need to test drive them. :D
