New from Texas!
Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself and ask some advice. I have been married for 35 years (this July) and have 2 adult sons and 2 wonderful grandkiddos! I quilt and scrapbook, but am focusing on quilting right now. My mother just cleaned our her sewing room and gave me her Handi-Quilter and Juki TL98E sewing machine. I had about 1/4 of the quilt quilted, when the needle that was on the machine broke. I have gone thru 5 needles this afternoon and needless to say have gotten VERY frustrated. I have read and re-read the manual, regarding replacing the needle and threading. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, Hi from Ohio! I am assuming that needle that is broken is in the Handi-Quilter because you are quilting it. So Check here
https://www.handiquilter.com/
They have copies of their manuels and they may have videos. Also check with you tube videos on how to change a needle on a Handi Quilter. (Maybe there is on there.) I know its fussy. My thinking is if it looks like its the right way to put it in, its probably wrong. The neck of the needle should have a groove and that should be the front. Also, you place the needle in an angle little to left, not straight. Hope this helps.

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. Make sure when you put in a new needle that it is facing the right way and it is all the way up before tightening the screw. Make sure you have the same needles that the machine likes. Depending on how the needle broke, it might have knocked off the timing.
