Default Newbie Inspired by Cindy Needham's Work

Hi everyone! Have been sewing apparel and home dec all my life, but hadn't ever been inspired to quilt...until I came across Cindy Needham's Heirloom Whole Quilt work, and I am awestruck! I have no idea how long it would take to learn something like that, but as I deal in antique and vintage lace & linens, I am dying to learn it! Where do I start?????

I am a retired teacher. I live on the north shore of Long Island, NY, with my hubby, two Yorkies & a Maltese.

Thanks for reading!

Dorothy

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. If you want to start with whole cloth first, then watch a few youtube videos on hand quilting. Make yourself up a small quilt sandwich, buy a hand quilting lap frame and practice stitching on it. You will need quilting hand thread, betweens(quilt needles) and a comfortable quilting thimble.

Sorry, I assumed because you wanted to use antique linens that you wanted to hand quilt. If you want to learn machine quilting, Cindy Needham I believe offers Craftsy classes.

Welcome to the board! I just visited your website. It's beautiful. Love the lace boots. Perfect for the bride that would have a very fancy western themed lace wedding. Your website is stunning!
