Connie, welcome from New York! This site is a mixed blessing. There will be times when instead of working on a WIP (work in progress) you'll be chatting or viewing what's new! It really is full of good people, generally speaking. Something that may be helpful to you is a chart of abbreviations;
DH - dear (or damn) husband
DD - dear daughter
DS - dear son
DGD - dear grand daughter
DGS - dear grand son
LA - Long Arm
LQS - local quilt shop
wonky - something that's just a bit off ...about a quilt or whatever the person's talking about
