Default newbie with a question :)

i'm pretty new to quilting and only really know the basics. my question is about finishing my quilt... i know how to use store-bought binding to finish the edges, but i want to fold over the backing to finish the quilt. i've seen it done and i like how it looks. i don't care if i do it by machine or by hand. any info you can give me would be great.

i've only browsed around this site a little, but everything people make here is beautiful

Hi and welcome from New York. Check out YouTube for fold over binding. I tried to copy the link but it didn't work.

I cut strips 2.5" wide, fold them in half, press and attach to the quilt, fold over and stitch. Welcome to this wonderful site from Coos Bay, Oregon

welcome from se TX -- selfbinding does work, but don't let it be too thick or too wide!
