Welcome from the central valley of CA.
Is your thread old, is it coming from wooden spools? That might be old stuff and weak.
Or, have you checked under and around the bobbin to see if it is gunked up with thread or lint? How about checking to see if you can thread it differently, or if it is in the right track from the spool to the needle.
And check that needle, have you changed it in the last few years? It might have small nicks in it, like a tiny crochet hook.
Hope you get it fixed soon and get back to sewing.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!! I have always wanted to learn to quilt..finally trying it with a machine my mother-in-law bought me! My mother made such beautiful quilts and I remember always begging her to teach me to sew and she never would..oh well..I have learned many things through reading during my lifetime and have been succesful learning them on my own!! The internet has taught me so many cool things also! I am so glad to be on this forum!! I am going to check all the things suggested in the morning..been a long day..gotta be ready for the last week of school! Thanks so much!! You guys are awesome!
