Hello there fellow quilters/sewers and friends! I'm new to this board and VERY new to quilting. I'm from ontario canada and am making my very first quilt! (never quilted in my life) anyway, I used up old fabric from left over projects and am making a twin size quilt for my daughter for xmas. I have cut the foundation, sewn the strips onto the foundation, sewn the blocks together and am now sandwiching the back the batting and the top. my question is, how do I start to quilt my work and where and how.....
I know I need to start in the middle and work my way down, also does anybody have any ideas on how I should quilt, do I just go up and down or across or follow a pattern..............like I said, I'm new to all this any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanksssssssssssss
    -Rose
P.S posting a pic of my quilt not yet sewn together...........

Hello and Welcome to the board :D:D:D

As to the quilting, part of the design choice comes from what batting you choose. Each brand/type has its own quilting requirements. That is where I would start first.

Hello from southeast PA! USA I assume you will be machine quilting. I'm not a longarm quilter, so I would stitch-in-the-ditch. Start in the center & see how far you can go around blocks without having to stop. When you have to stop to move to another area, you can do a locking stitch when you stop & when you start again.
