Noob from Texas
Hi Everyone,
My name is Shannon. Within the last 2 years I have gotten into sewing. As a child growing up, my grandmother sewed/knitted/crocheted everything. I didn't appreciate it at the time, but now I most certainly do. I never even thought about owning a sewing machine until I bought my French Bulldog, Radar, and ordered a collar for him. Then it hit me, that looks easy to make and it spiraled from there.
So, that Christmas (2012), I asked for a sewing machine...which I got. I dabbled with it here and there, a little intimidated by it and spent more time reading blogs and searching for beginner tutorials. All the while when I did use it, it was on my kitchen table. So Christmas 2013, I asked for a sewing table. I did make a few collars for Radar and for my mom's 3 Jack Russells.
Then I found all these neat things that could be made. I've made a sleeve for my iPad, some patchwork type curtains for my laundry room, coasters, sunglass case, and right now I am working on a set of placemats for my mom...which is my real first venture into quilting. My iPad case and sunglass case were quilted as well. I am wanting to eventually work up to a full size quilt and still want to dabble in all the other stuff too. I just wish that I had more time.
Anywho, enough rambling. Looking forward to seeing what everyone is up to and learn some new things!
