not really new...
Hello Everyone, I'm not really new here, been lurking for quite awhile but I've been getting more active online and plan on checking in her more often and trying to contribute.
I've been quilting for somewhere around 30 years. When I started we didn't have the rotary cutter, books and magazines (just QNM), or any good fabric. I remember when the rotary cutter came out, I thought, that won't work, you can't cut anything but squares!! Boy was I surprised when I saw one demoed at a quilt show. I bought one right away and never looked back!!
Every year I set myself a quilting goal, this year it's to use up my scraps. Of course this will be a multi-year project, I have bins and bins of scraps. Really I don't know how I got so many, when I moved 5 years ago I gave all my scraps away and now I have even more!!
I do quilt a lot. So I guess that's why I have so many.
My kids call me a fanatic. My DIL just doesn't understand it, my kids are used to me sewing nonstop and think nothing of it, neither one can remember when Mom didn't make quilts.
So, glad to be here and see you on the boards...
