Quiltingboard Forums - Another Connie from Oklahoma!

Hi everyone. Just joined this site today and the first post I read in this section was from a Connie in Oklahoma! How cool is that! Only thing is she just got a new free-arm sewing machine and I didn't. LOL I am from Skiatook, which is in NE Okla, just north of Tulsa.
I used to quilt a lot...nothing fancy, just scrap quilts and things like that. Got away from it and into scrapbooking and card making, but now am ready to get back into quilting again! (but am also keeping my other hobbies)...
At church, we just started a new quilting group, making lap quilts for people who need them. We meet once a month to cut out quilt blocks and things, and then through the month at home, we will be sewing on the quilts. I'm excited about it!
I am also fixing to make two baby quilts...one for my great-grandson due in July, and one for my great-neice due in August! Such fun! Have already bought the fabric, so am anxious to get started on them! The boy's will be made from elephant print fabric (cute!) with solid blue, yellow, and green; the girl's is going to made from zebra print, both black & pink, and also solid pink & black blocks.... That's what my neice wanted! we'll see how it turns out. LOL
