Hello from Ikesgram! I am not really new but because of injuries have not been able to use arms or hands much for almost two years. I have been a "lurker" though, enjoying so many of the topics you all discuss.

Now I am beginning to sew/ live a lot more after much surgery and physical therapy. Thank God for all who have cared for me,especially my husband and daughter2.

I look forward to learning a lot from all of you.

Hello and welcome from Ontario and yes quilting can be a form of therapy both physical and mental.

Welcome back ! Hope you can spend more time with us .

Don't want to pry , but is there anyway that quilting can be used in your therapy ? It would be wonderful if it could be .

I don't mind answering questions about what I have learned the hard way about shoulder injuries. I tore and damaged both rotator cuffs--lots of arthritis present too. I have had to relearn how to move with reattached biceps--getting dressed is a major accomplishment after therapy begins ! Fine motor skills are the last thing that I can do. Just sitting to sew has been a hard thing to do. I am working on lengthening my time at ANYTHING. Therapy can only work on larger issues and time may be as important as therapy !
